10 missing after boat sinks off China coast

Hangzhou (China), July 4 (Xinhua) At least 10 people were missing Friday after their boat sank off the coast in eastern China, the police said.

The incident took place about 5 p.m. near Taizhou City in the eastern province of Zhejiang. The boat was carrying a group of anglers in East China Sea, police officer Jia Ce, said.

The exact number of people aboard the boat and cause of the accident is not known yet, he said.

Fishery and border defence officials have launched a search.

Two days ago, another boat sank in the East China Sea. Twelve fishermen are still missing after their boat carrying 15 people capsized on the sea during a tornado. Three fishermen were rescued. The incident took place near the city of Zhoushan in Zhejiang province.
