In the US, newly-released court papers have shown that Dr Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson's personal dphysician, bought the anaesthetic Propofol in Las Vegas.

He bought the drug in May, at the same time he was hired by Jackson, and had it sent to his offices in Los drug Angeles.

The coroner investigating Jackson's death has ruled Propofol was the primary cause of death.

Dr Murray has admitted injecting Jackson with the drug at the singer's Los Angeles house each night to help him over his insomnia.

Propofol is a powerful anaesthetic normally only administered to patients in a hospital environment.

The Los Angeles Times, which asked for details of the police investigation, has been able to reveal that investigators found receipts in Dr Murray's Las Vegas office showing that he bought five 100ml bottles of Propofol on 12th May.

Dr Murray is licensed in Nevada, California and Texas and has not been charged with any crimes, but Los Angeles police are treating Jackson's death as a homicide investigation.
