BEIJING, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- Chinese action crime film "Caught in Time" replaced U.S. animated comedy film "The Croods: A New Age" to lead the Chinese mainland's daily box office chart on Monday.
The Chinese film raked in around 13.7 million yuan (around 2.1 million U.S. dollars) on Monday, data from the China Movie Data Information Network showed Tuesday.
Monday's earnings pushed the movie's total office revenue above 400 million yuan 11 days after its release, showed the data.
Taking the second spot of the chart was U.S. animated comedy film "The Croods: A New Age," which earned close to 10 million yuan on Monday.
Coming in third was "One Second," a domestic feature film pocketing around 8.7 million yuan on the fourth day of its screening.
Set in the 1970s, the film, directed by renowned Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yimou, revolves around a deep bond formed by a father who has lost his daughter and a wandering girl because of a movie.
