TIBET, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- The number of motor vehicles in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region had reached 656,703, while the number of drivers had risen to 613,682 by the end of 2020.
Before the peaceful liberation of Tibet, only the privileged could own cars.
Now with the construction of highways and the expansion of rural roads, more than 110,000 kilometers of highways had been built in Tibet by the end of last year.
In 2020, the growth rate of Tibet's per capita disposable income ranked first among all provincial regions in Chinese mainland.
