BEIJING -- Chinese stocks closed lower Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 1.08 percent, at 3,531.5 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.33 percent lower at 15,115.38 points.

BANGKOK -- The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) index Monday moved up 0.05 points to close at 1,536.49 points.

Some 26.46 billion shares worth 93.81 billion baht (about 3.12 billion U.S. dollars) changed hands.

MUMBAI -- Indian markets closed at record highs on Monday on the back of favourable global cues and strong Q3 earnings.

The benchmark S&P, BSE Sensex closed at 49,269.32, 486.81 points or 1.00 percent up compared to its previous close at 48,782.51.

SINGAPORE -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going down 0.31 percent, or 9.29 points, to close at 2,983.90.

A total of 2.37 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.58 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.19 billion U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 264 to 244.

KUALA LUMPUR -- The Malaysian stock market ended lower here on Monday.

The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) was at 1,617.25, down 15.94 points, or 0.98 percent and the Emas was at 11,548.48, down 88.97 points, or 0.76 percent.

PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia's stocks finished lower on Monday, with the Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX) Index down 6.34 points, or 0.99 percent, to close at 633.83.

A total of 25,800 shares worth 184 million riels (45,394 U.S. dollars) were traded, the CSX said, adding that 56 percent of the traded shares belonged to Phnom Penh SEZ, Plc (PPSP), 24 percent to ACLEDA Bank Plc (ABC), and 15 percent to Sihanoukville Autonomous Port (PAS).

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks closed up 30.00 points, or 0.11 percent, to 27,908.22 points on Monday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 27,794.81 and 28,176.65. Turnover totaled 254.15 billion Hong Kong dollars (about 32.79 billion U.S. dollars).

VIENTIANE -- The Lao stock market closed on Monday with a decrease of 1.42 percent compared to the previous trading day.

The Lao Securities Exchange composite index decreased by 8.70 points, reaching 603.6 points after closing.

SYDNEY -- The Australian share market finished firmly lower on Monday, with tech stocks and gold miners leading broad-based losses.

At the market close the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index was down 60.70 points or 0.90 percent at 6,697.20, while the broader All Ordinaries index was down 64.70 points or 0.92 percent at 6,959.50.

SEOUL -- South Korean stocks ended lower Monday.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) lost 3.73 points, or 0.12 percent, to settle at 3,148.45. Trading volume stood at 1.7 billion shares worth 44.1 trillion won (40.2 billion U.S. dollars).
