SHIJIAZHUANG, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- North China's Hebei Province reported 90 locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases and 15 local asymptomatic cases on Tuesday, the provincial health commission said on Wednesday.

Of the confirmed cases, 84 are in the provincial capital Shijiazhuang, and the other six in Xingtai. Among them, 27 are previously asymptomatic carriers. Among the newly reported asymptomatic cases, 14 are in Shijiazhuang and one is in Xingtai.

Shijiazhuang and Xingtai have launched the second round of citywide nucleic acid tests.

As of Wednesday noon, 8.2 million people in Shijiazhuang were tested for the virus.

The supply of rice and flour in the virus-hit northern Chinese city of Shijiazhuang has been ensured.

So far, the supply of rice and flour to Hebei Province has been maintained at 300 tonnes per day, of which 120 tonnes has been sent to the city of Shijiazhuang, basically meeting the needs of local people and contributing to market stability.

Medical supply companies have conducted strict epidemic control measures and stepped up their production to ensure the medical supply amid the fight against COVID-19.
