ZHENGZHOU, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- The central Chinese city of Zhengzhou launched citywide nucleic acid testing last Sunday for the latest resurgence of COVID-19. A total of 9,809,500 samples in Zhengzhou had been taken by 6 p.m. on Monday, accounting for 92.29% of the total number of people in Zhengzhou who should be tested.
Medical workers continued the testing through the weekend in residential communities. Community workers and volunteers helped maintain order and verify personal information as people queued for tests.
Zhengzhou had reported 13 locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases and 50 asymptomatic cases by 6 p.m. Monday.
