BEIJING, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed mixed on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.11 percent to 3,126.55 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.57 percent lower at 10,197.59 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 665.9 billion yuan (about 92.65 billion U.S. dollars), down from 698.2 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
Companies related to the coal, power generation and non-ferrous metal industries reported significant gains, while those engaged in automobile manufacturing, hospitality and tourism were among the biggest losers.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.78 percent to close at 2,011.88 points on Thursday.
