BEIJING, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.43 percent to 3,102.27 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.6 percent lower at 10,060.15 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices totaled 665.6 billion yuan (about 92.8 billion U.S. dollars), down from 717.9 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares in the media and entertainment sectors reported gains, while those in the glass industry suffered major losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.77 percent to close at 1,989.83 points on Tuesday.
