China's average life expectancy reaches 79 years in 2024: health official

BEIJING, March 9 (Xinhua) -- China's average life expectancy reached 79 years in 2024, a senior health official said on Sunday, citing the latest data.The average life expectancy in China increased by 0.4 years from 2023, Lei Haichao, head of the National Health Commission, told the press on the sidelines of the annual national legislative session.
