(250525) -- BIRGU, May 25, 2025 (Xinhua) -- People participate in the first Duanwu Cup dragon boat friendship race in Birgu, Malta, on May 24, 2025. The dragon boat race was held Saturday in the historic eastern Maltese city of Birgu to mark the traditional Chinese Dragon Boat Festival.
Also known as the Duanwu Festival, the Dragon Boat Festival is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month in the Chinese lunar calendar. This year, it falls on May 31.
